Martins has backed Tsimikas to be a success at Liverpool following his move from Olympiacos in the summer transfer window.
As reported by The Guardian, the 24-year-old left-back has joined the Reds on a five-year contract for a transfer fee of £11.75 million.
Martins has said that he is not happy to have lost the left-back, but he is pleased for the 24-year-old Greece international.
Martins told Goal.com about Tsimikas: “I’m not happy that I have lost such a good player, but I am happy for Kostas. I spoke with him after he signed his contract, and he was so happy. This is one of his dreams.”
The Olympiacos boss added: “He’s a fighter, who plays with passion. He is a strong personality, very strong mentally.
“He’s available to learn. I know that Klopp will find that, he will listen with his full attention. He wants to improve, and he’s a good professional. He knows he will have to work hard to play. He knows that.”
Good signing for Liverpool?
Andy Robertson is the first-choice left-back at Liverpool, and that is not going to change anytime soon.
The former Hull City star is one of the best players in his position in the world, and he will only get better.
However, Robertson needs a back-up, a player who can compete for the position and can further push him.
Although James Milner has filled in that position, Liverpool need someone who is a specialist, and for the bargain fee of £11.75 million, they have got an international left-back who is young enough to further develop his game and get better.

Meanwhile, Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster has said that he wants to be at the club next season, having spent the second half of the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Swansea City.
According to BBC Sport, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Fulham are among the clubs interested in signing the 20-year-old striker on a loan deal this summer.
The youngster said on The Beautiful Game Podcast, as transcribed by The Liverpool Echo: “Of course I want to be at Liverpool next season, be fighting for a spot to play.
“Who is not going to want to play at the home of the champions? But realistically, I want to play at Liverpool, I want to be ‘the striker’.”
