Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told the club’s official website that Brandon Williams will not leave, amid reported interest from West Ham United and Newcastle United.

According to Sky Sports. Newcastle and Southampton are interested in signing Williams on loan from United.

The Sun has claimed interest from West Ham in bringing the 20-year-old left-back to the London Stadium.

However, United manager Solskjaer has said that the England Under-21 international will not leave on loan.

Solskjaer told United’s official website: “Brandon will stay. He played for the 23s against Liverpool for some match fitness. He’s been working really hard and we don’t have any more players that we feel will be going.

“Brandon has been really good lately, working really hard in the last few months and he’s ready when the chance comes.”

Disappointment for West Ham United and Newcastle United

With Arthur Masuaku injured at the moment, West Ham could do with a new left-back for the next few weeks.

Aaron Cresswell is the first-choice left-back at the Hammers, but he needs competition and a back-up.

Given that Williams can also play at right-back, he would have provided cover for Newcastle and would have given manager Steve Bruce another option.

West Ham and Newcastle will now have to look elsewhere in their reported quest to sign a left-back.

Williams has played just six minutes in the Premier League and only 60 minutes in the Champions League for United so far this season, according to WhoScored.
