Paulo Fonseca has agreed to take over at Turkish giants Fenerbahce, bringing an end to speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace or Everton, as reported by TRT Sports.

While the Premier League trio are set to finally end their respective managerial sagas, it seems that Fonseca too is on the verge of a return to the dugout seven weeks after his two-year spell at Roma came to an end.

A man who has lifted an impressive nine trophies during spells in Portugal and Ukraine, while earning plenty of admirers with his fast-paced, attacking style, has been linked with pretty much every job going in recent weeks.

He held talks with Tottenham before the the deal fell through, reportedly due to monetary concerns (Fabrizio Romano).

Fonseca was also an early target for Everton, according to The Athletic, while Crystal Palace weighed up an approach of their own for the 49-year-old after Lucien Favre jilted Steve Parish at the alter.

Where will Paulo Fonseca take over next?

According to reports from the continent, Fonseca is set to continue his career in Turkey, with Fenerbahce set to announce what feels like a real coup of an appointment for a club who haven’t tasted Super Lig success since 2014.

TRT believe that a deal for Fonseca will be completed by the end of the week. And do not bet against a man who guided Shakhtar Donetsk to a domestic treble in 2017 dragging Fener back to the top of the Turkish football tree.

After weeks of gossip and speculation – we’re surprised Perez Hilton hasn’t branched out into sports reporting at this stage – all three of Crystal Palace, Everton and Tottenham should have a new manager in situ within the next few days.

Everything is falling into place, at last.

Everton have agreed a three-year deal with Rafa Benitez, Patrick Vieira is heading to Crystal Palace while Tottenham finally look set to appoint Nuno Espirito Santo. Although, when you consider the sort of summer Daniel Levy has had, we’ll believe it when we see it.
