RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose is growing frustrated with incessant transfer speculation with Benjamin Henrichs and Mohamed Simakan reportedly targets for Premier League giants Arsenal.
Shortly after Dani Olmo’s German Super Cup hat-trick over Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich, reports linking the silky Spain international with a move away from the Red Bull Arena hit the headlines.
Leipzig have already lost Josko Gvardiol, Dominik Szoboszlai and Christopher Nkunku to Premier league clubs this summer (Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea respectively). And Olmo is the latest in a long line of Red Bull stars to feature in the gossip columns.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are reportedly big fans of defensive duo Mohamed Simakan and Benjamin Henrichs. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta poured a gallon of gasoline on the speculation pyre this week too, when he suggested that Arsenal could make a move for another defender after losing Jurrien Timber to a long-term injury.

As far as Rose is concerned, however, the window cannot close soon enough.
“Simakan to Arsenal. Olmo Man City. Who else do we have? I think (Benjamin) Sesko is already dissatisfied and wants to go to Inter Milan. Benni (Henrichs) should go to Arsenal,” Rose smirks, via Transfermarkt.
“What should the people believe and what not?”
Henrichs and Simakan both joined Leipzig from Ligue 1 clubs. The latter arrived in a £13 million deal from Monaco, while the former set the Bundesliga giants back a further £16 million after making his name at Strasbourg.
Timber, meanwhile, is likely to be unavailable until the spring of 2024 after limping out of Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
“To have the injury he has is a huge blow,” Arteta says, via talkSPORT. “It is (a major setback) for the team because we recruited him with clear intentions, and what he was bringing to the team was evident. And he’s not going to be able to do it this season for us.
“We have to adapt. These things happen unfortunately, and we have to move on.
“We are always open (to bringing in replacements). We have to be open as well to the injuries, but also to react to the market.”
