The Rangers boss, Steven Gerrard, recently suggested that Middleton would be leaving Ibrox.
The Rangers winger, Glenn Middleton, could still join one of the English clubs that tried to sign him earlier in the summer transfer window.
Middleton is one of several wide players currently on Rangers’ books, and the Ibrox boss, Steven Gerrard, has already admitted, via the Scottish Sun, that he hopes a solution can be found for the teenager.
He had looked set to join Doncaster Rovers on loan, only for the League One side to lose their then-manager, Grant McCann, suddenly to Hull.
But the 2018 Rangers recruit is still being watched, according to McCann’s successor, Darren Moore.
“Good player, very, very good player,” Moore told BBC Radio Sheffield when asked about Rovers’ Middleton interest on Wednesday.
“Effective player. Scores goals. Good in one-v-ones. He’s got a great delivery on him. He has good contact on the ball. He’s effective in the final third.
“So you know I’m doing all my research on him, because he was previously here and I know about him.”
But Moore has yet to make contact with Rangers as he weighs up potential targets.
“Again, I’ve not spoken to anybody up in Glasgow regarding the boy,” he added. “So we’ll have a look and we’ll come together as a club and make sure we target the right ones.”
Middleton – who recently saw his list of Rangers rivals reduced by one through the sale of Daniel Candeias – has also been linked with Doncaster’s league rivals, Coventry City, as well as Championship Hull.
