The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, is said to be chasing the winger, although the Ibrox side could face competition.
One club has made two separate bids for the Rangers-linked winger, Aidan Fitzpatrick.
According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers are ‘chasing’ Fitzpatrick – although it is unclear whether Steven Gerrard’s side are the mystery bidders.
English sides Norwich City and Sheffield Wednesday have also been mentioned as possible suitors of the Partick Thistle youngster.
Speaking via the Jags’ official website on Tuesday, Fitzpatrick’s manager, Gary Caldwell – the former captain of Rangers’ rivals, Celtic – revealed: “To date, we have received two separate bids from the same club, one in the summer and one earlier this month, neither of which came anywhere near to matching our valuation of the player.
“I want to keep Aidan at the Club and Aidan wants to be here so I recommended that the Board reject the recent offer and they agreed.
“There is little doubt in my mind that Aidan will, at some point in his career, move on and potentially play at the very highest level.
“However, I would like to make it clear it would take an extraordinary bid for the Club to even contemplate it.
“We are happy with Aidan’s development and he is happy to be playing at this football club.
“I hope that this will reassure supporters and allow us to continue enjoying Aidan’s performances as he develops.”
Scottish youngsters David Bates (now Hamburg), Greg Docherty and Glenn Middleton were all recruited from other clubs by Rangers within the past three years.
And Fitzpatrick, who has been capped by the Tartan Army at under-17 level, would be the latest in a long line of potential future senior internationals currently on the books at Ibrox.
The 17-year-old has scored four goals and set up two in 15 games for Rangers’ closest local rivals this season.
