Borussia Monchengladbach manager Marco Rose has confirmed reported Liverpool target Marcus Thuram may need an operation on his ankle injury, RMC report.
The France U21 international picked up an injury in the 2-1 defeat at Bayern Munich.
Thurman was replaced early on, and subsequently missed the following game.

Speaking to reporters, Marco now confirms the attacker will miss the rest of the Bundesliga season while they consider the possibility of an operation over the summer.
“For Marcus, the season is over. We are even considering an operation,” Rose said.
Thurman’s form this season has reportedly attracted the attentions of Liverpool.
According to a report by Express.de in April, the Reds are monitoring both Denis Zakaria and Thuram with the latter valued at around £44 million.
Thurman is the son of former France World Cup winner Lillian Thuram. He only joined Gladbach last summer from Guingamp, but he has become an instant hit in Germany.
The 22-year-old has ten goals and eight assists in 28 league starts.
Thurman has featured on several occasions at both centre-forward and as a left forward.
Liverpool may have dominated the Premier League this term, but Jurgen Klopp will want to strengthen his side ahead of next season and another attacking option makes sense.
Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are arguably the best front three in Europe. However, beyond the deadly trio, the Reds lack long-term options.
Thuram has his entire career ahead of him. His current injury, nonetheless, will likely make a potential summer move away from Gladbach impossible.
