Motherwell manager Steven Hammell is not aware of any approach from Premier League giants Newcastle United for highly-rated teenager Lennon Miller, speaking to the Daily Record.
The much-coveted Scotland U17 international is far from the first talented teenager to catch the eye of clubs south of the border in recent years.
Calvin Ramsey joined Liverpool for £6.5 million in June after a superb breakthrough season at Aberdeen. Josh Doig moved to Serie A despite interest from a host of England-based clubs. And Aaron Hickey, formerly of Hearts, is now at Brentford via an excellent spell at Bologna.

According to The Sun, Wishaw-born Miller could now continue this recent trend. The midfielder is now on Newcastle’s radar after becoming the youngest player in Motherwell’s 136-year history earlier this season.
The Magpies are reportedly leading the race for Miller’s signature.
But while Hammell is not aware of Newcastle’s alleged interest, he did admit that the Firhill record-breaker is not a new name on the radar of scouts located on the other side of Hadrian’s Wall.
Newcastle United like Motherwell starlet Lennon Miller
“I’ve not heard anything (from Newcastle),” Hammell explains. “But I think every team in Scotland, England and even beyond will know of Lennon because of the player he is.
“We’ve had a number of approaches for Lennon over the last five or six years from all these teams in England and Scotland. So it’s nothing new for him.
“Have we had an approach for him now? No. Will that probably come one day? Potentially.”
The son of former Scotland international Lee Miller, Lennon admits that he is taking inspiration from the likes of David Turnbull and Allan Campbell; both of whom made their name at Motherwell.
Newcastle have already signed two Scottish youngsters this year. Charlie McArthur arrived from Kilmarnock, while goalkeeper Jude Smith joined from East Fife. The Magpies also brought in Galway left-back Alex Murphy.
