Gillingham manager Steve Evans has told The Glasgow Evening Times that West Ham United boss David Moyes admires Jack Tucker.

The Sun reported in February 2020 that West Ham have been checking on central defender Tucker.

The report in the British tabloid claimed that scouts of the London club are impressed with the 20-year-old, with Premier League rivals Aston Villa also tracking the youngster.

The defender was in action for Gillingham in their FA Cup tie against West Ham in January 2020.

Gillingham boss Evans has said that West Ham manager Moyes is a “big admirer” of the youngster.

Evans told The Glasgow Evening Times: “We played West Ham earlier this season in the cup and [David Moyes] is a big admirer of Jack.

“We know we’re not going to be able to stop the kid moving on but obviously it’s got to be right for the club and, more importantly, right for Jack.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, Tucker has made 26 starts and two substitute appearances in League One for Gillingham this season.

The youngster has also played thrice in the FA Cup and scored one goal in three EFL Trophy appearances this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Good signing for West Ham United?

Tucker is unlikely to cost a lot of money in transfer fee this summer, and it would not be a bad idea for West Ham to take a punt on the League One defender, as he could turn out to be a gem.
