Celtic-owned Ross Doohan made his first – and hopefully last – mistake of the season for Ayr United on Saturday.

Ayr United manager Ian McCall has admitted to BBC Sport Scotland that on-loan Celtic star Ross Doohan was mostly to blame for Saturday’s defeat.
The promotion-chasing Championship side lost their 10-match unbeaten run when Rangers-owned Zak Rudden gave Falkirk a 1-0 win at Somerset Park yesterday.
The young Celtic goalkeeper spilled the initial shot, before Rudden followed up to convert the rebound.
It was undeniably an error from the 20-year-old, who has been brilliant since joining United on loan last summer.
And although McCall refuses to be overly harsh on Doohan, the Ayr boss concedes that the gaffe cost his side.
He told BBC Sport Scotland: “The last few games we’ve needed to be more clinical.
“I can’t be harsh on Ross Doohan because he’s not made any mistakes since he can’t here, but he made one today and that cost us.”
It’ll be interesting to see whether the Celtic gem can bounce back from this.
He is clearly a very fine young goalkeeper and one who has every chance of returning to Parkhead next summer and impressing Brendan Rodgers.
Considering Craig Gordon turned 36 last month, you could argue that it’s a good time for Doohan to break through into the senior side and that will be his aim next term, even if he isn’t a regular starter.
