Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have been linked with Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham, who saw Moussa Dembele leave for Celtic in the summer of 2016.
Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has suggested to The Times that his side should not have let Moussa Dembele leave in the summer of 2016.
Dembele left English club Fulham at the end of the 2015-16 campaign to join Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.
The 20-year-old forward has been a massive success in Scotland and has established himself as a key player in Brendan Rodgers’s side.
The France Under-21 international has scored 26 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions for Celtic so far this season.
Fulham manager Jokanovic has admitted his regret at letting Dembele leave, and has suggested that the club will not make the same mistake with Ryan Sessegnon.
Sessegnon, who is only 16 years of age and can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger, has been linked with moves away from Craven Cottage in the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are interested in signing the youngster.
“We make a big mistake,” Jokanovic told The Times about Dembele. “We tried to get him to stay but in this modern life he prefers a different way. We are fortunate we don’t make this mistake with Ryan Sessegnon.”
Jokanovic’s comments suggest that Fulham will try their best not to part company with Sessegnon in the summer transfer window, and this could have an impact on City and Tottenham’s chances of securing his services.
However, the Citizens and Spurs are bigger clubs than the Cottagers, and would be able to offer the youngster the chance to challenge for the Premier League title and compete in the Champions League.
