Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United squad will open the new season with a trip to Arsenal on Sunday.
After a difficult 2024/25 campaign that saw United finish 15th in the Premier League, supporters are hoping for noticeable improvement this time around.

The club missed out on Champions League qualification after falling short in the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur, capping off a disappointing season.
In response, Amorim has overhauled the attacking options during the transfer window, bringing in Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to address last season’s lack of goals.
As he continues to shape the squad in his image, Amorim will be looking not only to refine United’s style of play but also to instil a mentality capable of returning the club to its former heights.
Manchester United changing pre-match routine
This season, Manchester United are making changes to how they prepare before matches. In the past, the first team would arrive at Old Trafford four hours before kick-off to have their pre-match meal at the stadium.
But with the recent opening of a new high-tech training facility at Carrington, that routine is set to change.

Ruben Amorim has decided that the team will now gather and eat together at Carrington before travelling as a group to each home game.
The squad is expected to reach Old Trafford around 14:45 on Sunday ahead of their match against Arsenal.
“I always had the feeling that we arrive at Old Trafford and Old Trafford must be the centre of the game, but we cannot spend four hours there waiting for the game,” Amorim told MUTV.

“And I feel with these facilities [at Carrington] we can be here, preparing for the game away from Old Trafford and when we arrive at Old Trafford, we have to feel the fans and then go directly to the game, not killing the momentum of connection with our fans.
“We know that we have a lot of people waiting there for us, to be with players and sign autographs. We will try to do it in the same way.
“So it’s going to be the same experience for fans. But for us it’s going to be better because near moment of kick-off we are going to feel the momentum more from the fans and spend less time inside.”
