Manchester United are among a number of clubs monitoring the progress of Santos prospect Robinho Jr.
In recent years, United have been more active in the South American market, picking up players like Diego Leon and Cristian Orozco. But bringing in Robinho Jr. would be a completely different move for them.
Robinho Jr. first appeared on United’s radar back in November, and since then, the interest has only grown – along with his reported asking price.

Robinho Jr, already considered one of Brazil’s top young prospects, was always going to attract attention from Europe, especially given his father’s profile as a former Real Madrid star in the 2000s.
According to GOAL, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all showing interest in the 18-year-old, with Santos having now set their valuation.
Santos have put an £87m price tag on him – a figure influenced by both his potential and his name recognition. While no club is likely to pay that right now, it could serve as a starting point for negotiations.
United are expected to be among those exploring their options further as they look to strengthen the left wing.
Neymar weighs in on Robinho Jr
Robinho Jr is currently plying his trade at Santos, where he has the chance to learn alongside club legend Neymar. It’s an opportunity that should only help his growth as a player.
Back in 2025, Neymar spoke to CNN Brazil about the young forward, praising his potential and mentality.
“Juninho has a lot of potential. Similarity with his father is very great, regardless of what his father is going through,” he said.
“The boy has a very good head, very strong, it’s not easy to be in his place. It’s not easy to debut this way, with the pressure that takes his name.”
Neymar went on to highlight the challenges that come with carrying such a famous name but said Robinho Jr has handled it well so far.
What’s being said about Robinho Jr
At 18, he hasn’t locked down a starting spot yet, but this season could be the one where he truly breaks through and earns that move. Robson Fernandes de Oliveira, who coached him at Portuários, saw something early on.
“Juninho came to me when he was five or six years old, in 2012, and he was always completely different from the others. I encouraged him to keep the ball at his feet for as long as possible.
“The parents of the other boys would get angry with me, but I insisted because I saw something completely exceptional: a left-footed boy who had a more refined dribble than his father. He was unbelievably skilful and had incredible courage to try as many times as necessary.”
Those sorts of qualities tend to get noticed fairly quickly within Brazilian football circles and it wasn’t long before Santos came calling. Juninho worked his way through the club’s ranks from U11s up until he broke into their senior squad in 2023.
The fact that Neymar has taken an interest in his development is another sign that people inside Brazil believe Robinho Jr has what it takes to reach the top level.
This season could be his chance to secure a regular place in Santos’ starting XI. If he does manage that, don’t be surprised if there’s even more interest heading into 2026.
