Manchester United have reportedly added Ajax superstar Mohammed Kudus to their transfer shortlist, with Liverpool interested in signing the Ghana international.
According to the Telegraph, Erik Ten Hag is keeping tabs on his former player ahead of the January window, with the Dutch manager viewing Kudus as a potential alternative to the likes of Jude Bellingham or Frenkie De Jong.
Kudus was one of the breakout stars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after the 22-year-old bagged a brace for Ghana in their 3-2 win against South Korea, with the attacking midfielder already having a sensational year with Ajax at club level.
The youngster impressed against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League, and Jurgen Klopp’s side are now interested in signing Kudus as reported by Sports World Ghana, though interest from their Manchester rivals United could complicate matters for the Reds.

Indeed, both Premier League clubs are in need of midfielders this January, and whilst Kudus is more forward-thinking and will likely thrive in a more attacking role, Liverpool and United’s interest could convince the Ghanianan on moving in the coming weeks.
Lauded by Rio Ferdinand as ‘outrageous’, Kudus’ reputation has increased tenfold over the last month due to the World Cup, and for Liverpool, United entering the race to sign the Ajax star is the last think Klopp would have wanted ahead of the January window.
Manchester United could beat Liverpool in race to sign Kudus

United’s need for a squad overhaul is clear for everyone to see, and Kudus could be a good addition to Ten Hag’s plan to bring the Manchester giants back to their former best given how much potential the 22-year-old has, with the prospect of beating Liverpool to another signing also quite tantalising.
After all, Liverpool have been five steps ahead of United in almost everything for the past few years, and Ten Hag besting the Reds in one deal will be a big move in the right direction for the Old Trafford side, who could be due huge changes in 2023.
