Manchester United are looking to address one of their ongoing issues by bringing in a new face.

Ruben Amorim saw a strong start against Arsenal undone by a mistake in goal.

Altay Bayindir got the nod over Andre Onana, but neither has won over the fans yet.

Talk of signing a new goalkeeper has been going on all window, and it now looks like the club is moving forward with plans.

Senne Lammens has been linked to Manchester United in recent months as an option to address the club’s issues between the posts.

Now the interest appears to be ramping up, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that talks are progressing.

Lammens is said to be close to agreeing personal terms, as United look to move quickly before other clubs get involved.

“Understand Manchester United are still working on deal to sign Senne Lammens, talks underway,” the transfer expert posted on X.

“Personal terms are almost agreed and Man United are in active talks for the Belgian goalkeeper. #MUFC try to anticipate more clubs from France and Italy, also based on exits.”

The Red Devils have made five signings in the transfer window so far: Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Diego Leon, Enzo Kana-Biyik, and Matheus Cunha. That number could rise to seven if Lammens arrives and they go for a midfielder.

Lammens could quickly rise to first-choice status at Old Trafford

Senne Lammens, 23, has worked his way through Belgium’s youth ranks from under-15s to under-21s, gaining valuable experience along the way.

Back in July, United In Focus noted that Lammens had moved to the top of United’s goalkeeper shortlist for the upcoming window – provided a move was possible.

The challenge now is finding a buyer or loan destination for either Altay Bayindir or Andre Onana before the deadline closes in less than two weeks.

Lammens is projected to cost approximately £17 million. He is expected to become the primary goalkeeper relatively soon, even if he does not immediately secure a starting position.

Earlier this summer, Lammens admitted he was surprised by reports linking him with United. Manchester City were also interested at one stage before they decided to bring James Trafford back into their squad.
