Manchester United’s search for a new midfielder has turned towards Brazil, with Breno Bidon the latest player to be linked.
Ineos had spent the final weeks of the summer transfer window looking for a new midfielder but eventually chose to wait things out.
Manchester United had shown interest in Carlos Baleba but stepped away after Brighton set a £100 million asking price.
A new addition in midfield will be high on the list of priorities in 2026, and Ineos have so far focused on bringing in young talent that can develop into first-team regulars.
Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon may be one of those targets, and there are early signs that something could be developing behind the scenes.
Breno Bidon linked with Man United move
Brazilian outlet UOL reports that the Red Devils are among several clubs tracking 20-year-old midfielder Breno.
Napoli, Manchester City and Wolves are all named alongside United as clubs that have made an approach to begin negotiations. Zenit and clubs in the Middle East are also reported to have made offers.

Dutch side PSV are said to have already submitted a bid worth £8m (€9m), which could put pressure on others to act quickly.
The presence of Casemiro in the final year of his contract could help sway Breno towards Old Trafford, with a clearer path to regular football than at some of his other options. That said, this is still going to be a very difficult deal for them to pull off.
Breno recently extended his contract with Corinthians until 2029, so they won’t feel rushed into selling him on the cheap anytime soon.
Who is Breno Bidon? Profile of Man United’s latest midfield target
Ineos have aimed to overhaul United’s approach to recruitment and tap into the club’s extensive scouting network, particularly in South America.
The recent interest in Breno feels similar to the move for Diego Leon, who joined from Paraguay for £7m after standing out during his time there.

Breno has been part of Corinthians’ senior squad since the 2023/24 season, coming through their academy system before that.
Breno is also a regular with Brazil’s Under-20s and is usually seen playing either as an advanced midfielder or on the right side of attack. TNT Sports first linked him with Bayern Munich interest back in 2023, following his rise at Corinthians.
