Ineos have already reached an agreement to sell Manchester United’s most valuable player in 2026.
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s minority investment, there have been clear signs of improvement in the way Manchester United handle their transfers.
But the club still struggle when it comes to selling players. To make things worse, many have gone on to do well after leaving Old Trafford.
Back in the summer, Ruben Amorim put together a group of players who later left for lower fees. The club had made it clear they were no longer part of the plans.
If there’s one area where United really need to get better, it’s getting higher prices for outgoing players. But with Rasmus Hojlund, it seems like Ineos have made that mistake again.
Man United set to sell Rasmus Hojlund for far below his actual worth

Hojlund was one of several players moved out of Old Trafford over the summer, eventually landing a season-long loan at Napoli.
Antonio Conte is a fan, and the deal includes a £38m obligation to buy if Napoli secure Champions League qualification.
With Napoli currently third in Serie A, there’s growing belief that Hojlund will be staying in Italy come 2026.
According to CIES Observatory, who recently published their top 100 most valuable footballers, Hojlund outranks every player still at United.
The report values him at 92.8 million Euros (£80m), putting him ahead of names like Jamal Musiala and Vinicius Junior.
This means United are set to offload the Dane for less than half of what he’s reportedly worth. The club’s transfer business under Ratcliffe may have shown progress overall, but deals like this remain hard to justify.
Rasmus Hojlund’s transfer value compared to other Man United players
According to the CIES report, Hojlund was listed as the highest-valued player on United’s roster, but Benjamin Sesko wasn’t too far behind him.
The same report gave Sesko a transfer value of 84.8 million Euros, which comes out to around £73 million.
This figure suggests that the £66m spent by United to sign Sesko wasn’t a bad deal for Ineos, even if the striker hasn’t hit the ground running in the Premier League yet.
Reports from earlier in the season indicated that United’s data team believes Sesko is an upgrade over Hojlund, despite their very different form this year.
No other current United players made it into CIES’s top 100 most valuable players list.
