The debate continues to rage as to who is the Premier League’s best ever manager is as Pep Guardiola confirmed his sixth league title over the weekend.
Since joining Manchester City during the summer of 2016, Pep Guardiola has dominated the Premier League with his City side failing to win just two league titles since he joined the club from Bayern Munich.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger have always been recognised as the best two managers in the Premier League’s 32 year history with Jose Mourinho, who has won three league titles, also in the running.
Well, one former player who may have a decent idea as to who the best Premier League manager has been in the league’s illustrious history is Roy Keane and he has given his verdict.

Keane’s verdict
When speaking on the latest episode of The Overlap, former midfielder Keane, who won a plethora of league titles at Old Trafford, gave his opinion.
“One, I like Pep, but then if I don’t pick Fergie some people think it’s personal,” he eventually said, seemingly alluding to his falling out with Ferguson ahead of his United exit in 2005.
“I’ll go with Pep,” Keane finally decided. “So the boss number two,” said Gary Neville, who made 602 appearances as Keane’s teammate under Ferguson between 1992 and 2011.
“Why do you call him the boss?” he asked, Keane picking his friend up on the title he reserves for the Scotsman. “You’ve asked me this about 400 times in the last 12 months,” Neville replied.
Ferguson or Guardiola
The debate will continue to go on and if the Spaniard wins his seventh league title and potentially another UEFA Champions League crown, then he would surely have to be considered as the league’s best ever.
One thing that Ferguson never achieved during his time at Old Trafford was winning the league title four times on the bounce and, after Sunday’s procession to the title, Guardiola’s side have achieved exactly that.
The pair have great admiration for each other. It seems that Ferguson was quick to praise City’s appointment of the Spaniard back in 2016.
“Man City have made a real coup in getting him,” Ferguson declared to Sky Sports. Perhaps not even he could have predicted the era of City dominance under the Catalonian’s tutelage.
