Alexander-Arnold, who was also backed to become an England international by former captain Steven Gerrard in his autobiography, was named Man of the Match, and the versatile defender admits the night could hardly have gone better on a personal level.
With undisputed first-choice Clyne the only natural right-back in Klopp’s squad, Alexander-Arnold can also take some comfort in knowing he will be granted more opportunities by a manager whose commitment to and trust in young players remains another refreshing caveat of his charismatic personality.
