Manchester City will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when they take on Newcastle United at home.

City suffered a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the league last weekend, although they did bounce back with a 2-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach away from home in Germany in the Champions League Group D on Wednesday evening.

As things stand, Manuel Pellegrini’s side are second in the Premier League table with 15 points from seven matches, just a point behind leaders Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are second from bottom in the league standings with just three points from seven games.

The Magpies have yet to win a game in the Premier League this campaign, but their performance in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea at St. James’ Park last weekend was encouraging.

Steve McClaren has only won two of his last 20 league matches as a manager with Newcastle and Derby County.
