Manchester City will hope to keep themselves top of the table, while Liverpool are looking for their first league win at the Etihad Stadium since 2008.
To be played on Saturday 21st November 2015 at 17:30. Venue: Etihad Stadium, Manchester
Odds: Man City 4/6, Draw 16/5, Liverpool 19/4
If you believe the television adverts for this game, it’s all about Raheem Sterling facing Liverpool for the first since he left the Reds, and James Milner’s return to the club where he won two Premier League titles.
Both sides have had their fair share of injuries and will look to welcome back their best marksmen in Sergio Aguero and Daniel Sturridge respectively.
Manchester City will be looking to continue to set the pace in the title race, while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are looking to secure a big win in order to wrestle back some momentum that they lost prior to the international break with the home defeat to Crystal Palace.
Goalscoring remains something of a headache for the visitors, having only scored more than once in two games this season, but not so for the hosts who have continued to find the net regularly even without Aguero leading the line.
In terms of team selection, it’s hard to think if Aguero is showing signs of fitness that he won’t start the game for Manuel Pellegrini’s side. David Silva is said to be a risk because of his ankle injury, while Vincent Kompany is set to miss the game.
As for Liverpool, Klopp has shown a degree of caution when it has come to the fitness of players during his tenure so far, so if Sturridge were given an opportunity from the start, then there would be a few eyebrows raised.
