Manchester City are yet to decide on whether to reignite their interest in Harry Kane ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to the Athletic, the Premier League leaders are unclear on their transfer stance for the England international, who last weekend tore City apart with one of the best individual performances of the season.

Kane bagged a brace in a 3-2 win for Tottenham, a result which has thrown open the Premier League title race as well as added more pressure for the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the battle for top-four.

As we know, City were chasing Kane for the majority of the summer transfer window, with the Manchester giants eager to sign the England captain as a replacement for Sergio Aguero following his departure from the club.

However, despite their efforts, Kane remained at Tottenham, where the striker is currently enduring his worst season to date with the north London club, with the forward scoring just seven goals in the Premier League, fewer than the likes of Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez.

With City signing River Plate striker Julian Alvarez and the likes of Erling Haaland still being linked with a move to the reigning English champions, it is understandable why the club are yet to decide on what their stance is on Kane.

City should move on fully from Kane given based on form this season

Despite his outstanding performance at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, there’s no denying that Kane has looked like a shadow of the player who has dominated the Premier League over the past few years this season.

The striker has struggled under both Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte this campaign, and for City, they could do with moving on completely from Kane, with the likes of Alvarez and Haaland proving to be more exciting fits for Pep Guardiola’s side.
