Manchester City reportedly considered a bid to sign Hajduk Split wonderkid and rumoured Real Madrid target Luka Vuskovic before the teenager opted to sign a new contract with the Croatian side.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the reigning Premier League champions were readying an offer to sign the 16-year-old centre-back, however, Vuskovic made the surprising decision to pen fresh terms with Hajduk to extend his contract at the club until 2026.

As per the Italian transfer guru, though, though race to sign Vuskovic is still wide open, with a move expected in the summer as Hadjuk look set to rake in a huge sum of cash for their wonderkid prospect, who according to Christian Falk is also wanted by Real Madrid.
With City almost making a bid to sign Vuskovic, though, it is safe to assume that Pep Guardiola’s side could be the favourites to land the Croatian youth international this summer, who according to Foot the Ball is being viewed as a ‘generational’ talent in his homeland.
Indeed, the Manchester giants have done an exceptional job at signing some of the world’s most exciting youth prospects in recent years, and adding Vuskovic to their ranks ahead of the likes of Madrid could be an exceptional move from the English giants.
City must do all they can to sign Vuskovic in the summer

Standing at 6’3″ and already a regular in the Croatian top-flight, there’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to Vuskovic, who is already drawing comparisons to Josko Gvardiol, another defender City are believed to be interested in signing.
Yet in the case of Vuskovic, City must ensure they are the front of the queue for the 16-year-old. And although many top clubs will be keen to sign the defensive wonderkid, the Manchester side have the resources and the network to sell themselves as the perfect team for the Hadjuk sensation.
