Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva will reportedly be allowed to leave the club this summer for a lower selling price than what the Premier League giants have been originally asking for.
According to Sport, the Manchester side are open to selling Silva in the summer for €60m (£57m), a ‘dramatically’ lower figure than what had been recently touted in the British and Spanish media, with some reports pricing the 28-year-old as highly as £88m as per the Athletic.
With FC Barcelona still heavily interested in signing Silva, news that City are keen to sell the playmaker for £57m is a welcome update for the Catalan giants, who have been strongly linked with a move for the former AS Monaco superstar for the past two years.
Although the midfielder has been key for City this season, this summer is shaping up to be the one that Silva might finally secure his dream move to Barcelona, with this newest asking price something that the La Liga giants could afford to pay even with their financial struggles.

Indeed, Barcelona are expected to shave off quite a lot from their wage bill at the end of this season, and with some players expected to be sold on, Xavi might have the funds and the squad space needed to finally sign Silva, who City are now seemingly warming to selling.
With a new midfielder expected to be signed by City this summer, offloading Silva could be part of a long-term plan Pep Guardiola has in mind to improve the squad for next season, with the Manchester side linked some impressive names that could be an improvement on the Portuguese star.
City finally selling Silva could be a smart decision this summer

City are set for a huge summer this year with numerous key players expected to leave the Etihad Stadium in what could be a bigger shake-up than last year’s window, and selling Silva could be for the best given how perfect the opportunity might be this year.
As we know, City have lowered their asking price for Silva, and with Barcelona’s interest remaining as prevalent as ever, now is as good a time as any to refresh the midfield and to sell the former Monaco star for a huge fee, and one that the La Liga side could actually afford.
