It looks as if Kyle Walker’s time at Tottenham Hotspur is quickly coming to an end, with the right-back once again left out of the starting XI by manager Mauricio Pochettino for the final ever match at White Hart Lane.
Walker did come off the bench in that 2-1 victory over Manchester United, but only after an injury to Kieran Trippier as the England international increasingly finds himself a periphery figure following a supposed bust-up with Pochettino.
The Express are one of the latest media outlets to comment on the story, claiming United and rivals Manchester City are now ready to go head-to-head for the 26-year-old’s signature and will pay up to £45m.
Walker is keen to increase the £70,000-a-week he currently earns at Spurs, but after another fine season in which he was named in the PFA Team of the Year, is the defender going to regret it if he leaves?
The Englishman will certainly earn a decent wage packet at either Manchester club, but Tottenham are creating something really exciting under Pochettino – something Walker was a key part of.

They are the form team over the past two seasons and although trophies have not arrived just yet, with a young and talented squad at their disposal that will surely only be a matter of time.
Both City and United have been some way off the pace being set by Spurs this term and while both will probably spend big this summer to try and rectify that, there is no guarantee that Walker won’t just end up as another expensive figure in an underachieving squad – while Pochettino continues to make huge steps forward without him.
