Manchester City and Manchester United are both reportedly keeping tabs on Atlanta United star Thiago Almada.
According to Argentine journalist Bruno Gonzalez, the Premier League giants are monitoring the 22-year-old playmaker, who this season has been one of the best players in MLS with eight goals and nine assists in 28 league appearances.

A member of Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup-winning squad, Almada is easily one of the highest-rated prospects currently playing in MLS. And now, City and United are both keeping an eye on the youngster, who could be the next player from the American top-flight to make the move to Europe.
Atlanta are no strangers to selling players to Europe having sold Miguel Almiron to Newcastle United in 2019, a deal that remains the most expensive sale in MLS history. And with the two Manchester giants now interested in Almada, the Argentine could be next in making the trip across the Atlantic.
Atlanta have to keep Manchester duo at bay for Almada this summer

Almada’s highlight reel this season for Atlanta as well as his participation at the World Cup for Argentina make the 22-year-old a prime candidate to make the move to Europe within the next 12 months. And for the Five Stripes, they have to ensure the attacking midfielder remains in Georgia this summer.
Whilst City and United have the funds to shatter the MLS spending record for a single transfer, Atlanta are aware that they can get a better deal for Almada in January, where the Argentine will be more developed and more ready for a blockbuster move to Europe rather than if the youngster left in this window.
