Paul Dickov has claimed that he has ‘so much respect’ for Liverpool striker Divock Origi, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old is set to leave Liverpool in the summer when his contract at Anfield expires and Dickov praised him for ‘never’ spitting his dummy out despite playing very little.

If Origi does leave Liverpool, then he will depart as a club legend and someone who didn’t score a high volume of goals, but some very, very important ones.

From the Champions League to the Merseyside derby, the 27-year-old is the man for the big occasions and he might just write his name further into the history books during these coming weeks.

Manchester City legend Dickov spoke highly about the player, who hasn’t started a Premier League game this term.

“I have so much respect for Origi,” said Dickov. “He is probably the fifth choice striker.

“Whenever he is called upon. He never spits his dummy out. Comes on and produces goals.

“Origi’s record against Everton, it’s six or seven goals he has got recently.”

When Origi does leave, it will be a sad day for Liverpool supporters and those inside the club.

Many will be hoping he can provide a few more lasting memories and he has a great chance of doing so.

This quadruple-chasing side are now edging closer to the seriously nervy and pressured situations.

Origi loves a Champions League semi-final against a Spanish side and the Reds will be facing one in a few hours time.
