Manchester City fans react on Twitter as Fabian Delph joins Everton

A number of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on midfielder Fabian Delph leaving the Etihad Stadium for Everton.

On Monday, the Goodison Park outfit confirmed the signing of the England international on a three-year deal, which ties him to the Merseyside club until the summer of 2022.

Delph joined Man City from Aston Villa in the summer of 2015 and made 89 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and claiming three assists (Transfermarkt), and won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two League Cups.

One particular contribution at the Etihad which guaranteeed his place on City folklore and the fans’ hearts is during the record-breaking 2017-18 campaign, when he was drafted in as left-back in the first half of the campaign following Benjamin Mendy’s injury and did a great job.

Delph will have an opportunity to face his old side next term on 29 September, when Everton host Man City, and on 1 January 2020, when the Toffees travel to the Etihad.
