The Man City captain initially struggled against the Red Devils but improved in the second half.

Manchester City have triumphantly returned to the top of the Premier League table thanks to their solid 2-0 victory over bitter rivals Manchester United in Wednesday’s derby.
With all eyes on Old Trafford, the Red Devils were hoping for three vital points in their quest for the top four, as well as bragging rights in the city of course.
Meanwhile, one of United’s other great rivals – Liverpool – were hoping for a favour from their traditional enemies, but unfortunately for both sets of reds, no such luck.
Man City took the lead in the second half through Bernardo Silva on his 100th appearance for the club as his low shot from 15 yards beat David de Gea at his near post.
Substitute Leroy Sane then struck a low effort beyond De Gea 12 minutes later as Pep Guardiola’s charges scored a record-breaking 157th goal of the season in all competitions.
Initially, there were concerns over the form of captain Vincent Kompany, who struggled in the first half and arguably could have been sent off before the break.

The defender did improve after the interval, however, and some fans on Twitter went on to praise him at full time, a few also criticising online ratings articles which slated the skipper:
