Glasgow Rangers have brought the Man City academy graduate to Ibrox ahead of Celtic, who reportedly wanted him at Parkhead.

Following his move to Glasgow Rangers, a number of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Ibrox new-boy Brandon Barker and also to wish him well.

The 22-year-winger old completed his move to Rangers from Man City on Friday, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal at Ibrox after opting to leave the club where he came through the ranks, to link up with Steven Gerrard’s Light Blues.

Barker joined the Citizens aged eight and rose steadily through the ranks, getting his first taste of first-team action during a loan spell with Rotherham United, before then having stints with Dutch side NAC Breda, Hibernian, and Preston North End.

The attacking ace has also been capped at various England youth levels, and won the Manchester City Elite Development Squad Player of the Year during the 2013-14 season, but leaves having made just one senior first-team appearance, in the FA Cup in 2016 (Transfermarkt).

Here is what some Man City fans said on social media following Barker’s switch to the Famous:

Barker, who was reportedly also on Celtic’s radar (Daily Mail) earlier in the summer, becomes the eighth signing of the summer transfer window for Rangers, who have bolstered their ranks as they seek title number 55 and glory in the cup competitions.
