Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the club selling close to 48,000 tickets for their EFL Cup tie against AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday night.
The Emirates Stadium can hold up to 60,000 supporters, so Arsenal aren’t far off a sell-out for this game.
Given that Wimbledon are a League One outfit, this is an EFL Cup game, and in midweek, then it’s some going from the supporters.
Arsenal fans have praised those who are going down and some even jibed at Manchester City that they had fewer fans for a Champions League tie.
But the Gunners have always been a big club, with a rich history that has just struggled and been on its knees for far too long now.
The youngsters, especially those coming through the Hale-End production line, have been the ones to provide that light.
Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka have thrived on the domestic stage, with the latter now a regular for England.
But there are seemingly a few more gems waiting to take that step up and Arsenal supporters want to see them in action tonight.
One of them includes highly-rated 17-year-old, Charlie Patino, who has been ripping it up in the younger age groups.
The Arsenal fans are showing their support tonight and will be hoping it’s backed up with a performance and progression through to the next round by those out on the pitch.
