- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Manchester City have won the race to sign two promising teenagers this summer.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have had a quiet beginning to the summer transfer window with the Citizens yet to make a first team signing.
The player they have been linked to the most is Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, the Newcastle United star is of interest to City but no movement has been made with regards to this deal.
HITC reported there was some concern within St James’ Park that Guimaraes’ release clause could be triggered but those fears were never realised.
It now appears City are closing in on two highly rated teenage midfielders to bolst their academy set ups.

City closing in on two promising teenage midfielders
Sources have confirmed to HITC that City have beaten a host of Premier League rivals to secure deals for teenagers Harrison Miles and Han Willhoft-King.
Both Miles and Willhoft-King were out-of-contract with their respective clubs – Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur– and City have taken advantage of their contract situation by agreeing deals with both players.
HITC understands that City have been chasing both teenage midfielders for the last few months and sources have confirmed that they have convinced both that their futures are best served in Manchester.
These impending signings are the latest made by the English club in recent season as they bid to have the best academy system in the country.
Teenage talents turn down interest from elsewhere to join City
15-year-old midfielder Miles is an England youth international and captain of the England Under-16. HITC understands Miles held talks with Arsenal and Chelsea, but the midfielder opted to join City’s academy system.
As for Wilhoft-King, the 18-year-old had plenty of interest from elsewhere and this came after the midfielder turned down the chance to extend his deal at Tottenham.
HITC can reveal that Willhoft-King shunned interest from Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund to move to the current Premier League champions.
Wilhoft-King was included in The Guardian’s Next Generation piece from 2022 and they noted the then 16-year-old was ‘smooth on the ball’ which will certainly be a key asset if he is to make it at City.
