HITC understands that Manchester City have agreed terms with the Citizens closing in on a new signing this summer.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have been quiet in the summer transfer window with the Premier League champions only making one signing this summer.

City completed the signing of winger Savinho from Girona earlier this summer but that is the only addition to date that the Premier League champions have made as they aim to make it five league titles in a row.

City are keen on adding a midfielder this summer and Pep Guardiola’s side were keen on Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes but sources have told HITC that the Magpies are not concerned about losing the Brazilian.

City closing in on signing of Divin Mubama

Sources have told HITC that City are closing in on the signing of Divin Mubama with the Citizens agreeing terms with the player to move to the Etihad Stadium.

In a shock deal, the 19-year-old – who HITC understands had held talks with a number of Championship clubs including Sunderland – has now agreed terms with City over a move to the Premier League champions.

Mubama was a highly-rated prospect at West Ham United but failed to agree a new deal before leaving the London Stadium this summer.

West Ham have been busy this summer with transfer dealings under new manager Julen Lopetegui but it appears that the Hammers are set to lose the promising teenager to the Premier League champions.

City have lost Oscar Bobb to an injury with the Norwegian set to be out of action for three months and the signing of Mubama could provide the club with depth.

West Ham set to receive compensation for Mubama

West Ham will now be due compensation for the teenager, who adds to City’s attacking options – initially for their Under-23 side.

In the youth levels, Mubama has been lethal for the Hammers and made his first team debut for the club in a 3-0 win over FCSB in the Europa Conference League.

For the youth team and the first-team, Mubama made 19 appearances for the Hammers and scored four goals for the club but now the Englishman is heading to the Etihad Stadium.
