Marcus Antonsson has left Leeds United for Malmo FF in the summer transfer window.

Marcus Antonsson struggled to make an impact at Leeds United, and it did not come as a surprise to see the Swedish striker leave the Elland Road outfit on a permanent basis for Malmo FF this summer.
Antonsson was on the books of Leeds for two years from the summer of 2016 until the summer of 2018, and the 27-year-old striker was not a success at the Whites.
Signed from Kalmar FF in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £2 million, the 27-year-old made just six starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds during the 2016-17 season, scoring only one goal in the process.
The Swedish striker was loaned out to Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2017, and during his spell at Ewood Park, the former Halmstads BK striker scored seven goals in 22 League One starts in 2017-18.

Antonsson has left Leeds for Malmo on a permanent basis, and while Elland Road faithful will not be too fussed about his exit, the Swedish club’s sporting director Daniel Andersson is delighted to have him at Stadion and has outlined where he has improved – he has become mentally stronger.
Andersson told Malmo’s official website about Antonsson: “He is goal-orientated, runs a lot, and is a good-team player who works hard for the team. In addition, in two seasons in England he has become mentally stronger.”
