Sandro Ramirez took his tally to the season to 12 with both goals in Malaga’s 2-0 win at Granada – no wonder Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested.

Sandro Ramirez at Barcelona

The Sandro who failed to make the grade at Barcelona is a different beast entirely at Malaga.

Alongside fellow La Masia graduate Munir El Haddadi, the 21-year-old was handed the ideal opportunity to force his way into Luis Enrique’s plans with Lionel Messi ruled out for two months early last season. However, in 20 appearances, Sandro mustered just three goals.

With that, his chance at the Camp Nou was gone. Though, it’s testament to his comparatively brilliant form in the Costa Del Sol that Sport claims Tottenham Hotspur are showing firm interest ahead of a potential summer move.

Described by his manager at Malaga, former Real Madrid legend Michel, as a ‘special’ talent, it appears unlikely that Sandro will be plying his trade at La Rosaleda beyond the end of this season.

Special indeed

Sport reports that the Canary Islander has a release clause of just £5 million in his contract, meaning Spurs could get their man after two years of trying for a remarkable bargain fee.

And Sandro’s hopes of earning a move to the Premier League title challengers will not have been harmed by a string of fine recent performances. The youngster has five goals in his last five games and, in Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Granada, once again proved that he is one of Spain’s most exciting forward talents.

Two goal hero

Cutting in from the left onto his favoured right foot, Sandro lashed home the opener from the edge of the box with laser like precision while capping a Man of the Match display with a thunderous second, catapulted into the top corner.

It was as clinical a brace as you could hope to see.

And with Tottenham still on the lookout for a supporting act to take the pressure off leading man Harry Kane, Sandro could be one of the most inspired Premier League signings of recent years.
