Liverpool fans on Twitter were lauding Danny Ings once again as he produced a top-quality performance to help Southampton record a 2-0 win over 10-man Everton on Sunday.
Whilst Ings didn’t get on the scoresheet, he was a nuisance to an Everton side, who went into the game looking to open a three-point lead over second-placed Liverpool, by supplying two assists.
Ings was involved in the first goal when he channelled his inner Roberto Firmino to pick up the small pocket of space, play a one-two with goalscorer James Ward-Prowse, whose bursting forward run was found by the ex-Liverpool man’s pin-point pass to open the scoring.
He then found himself on the left flank, weaved his magic and found his strike partner, Che Adams, lurking in the six-yard box.
It has been well-documented that Ings had injury troubles during his time on Merseyside, but one thing that hasn’t changed about the England man is the quality he has in his locker.
Liverpool are already well aware of that and they were praising him once again.
Not only that, but they were also glad to see their rivals unbeaten start to the new campaign come to an end.

Whilst Carlo Ancelotti’s men are still top on goal difference, it now provides Liverpool with a chance to go top during the next set of Premier League fixtures.
Nonetheless, with all those injury troubles behind him, the red half of Merseyside are glad to see that Ings is loving life on the pitch once again.
