Reported Tottenham managerial target, Graham Potter, told his pre-match press conference that he thinks Arsenal are ‘making progress’.

It has been one of the worst seasons in Arsenal’s recent history, with the club heading towards potentially finishing without any European football for the first time in 25 years.

The Gunners have an outside chance on the final day of the season to secure European football, but they will need other results to go their way.

Brighton stand in their way on Sunday, as Potter had this to say about the Gunners.

“You could say they would be disappointed because a club of that size is always competing for different things,” said Potter.

“But sometimes in football that happens. They still perform really well, I think. They have been unlucky in games. Should have won, scored more and they have missed some opportunities.

“But, they still have the same qualities. I think they can still attack you from any area of the pitch. I think they are making progress as a team. Mikel’s making progress there.

“From being written off a few months ago, they are still in the fight, so that’s a credit to them. They are going to be a tough team.”

Potter may well end the season stopping Arsenal from reaching Europe and his next stop might well be sitting in Tottenham’s hot seat.

The Daily Mail have previously reported that Potter is on Tottenham’s managerial wishlist, with Spurs fans are also urging Daniel Levy to push the button on the Englishman.

If he secures a win on the final day of the season against Arsenal then there will be more of the Tottenham faithful jumping on the Potter bandwagon.
