Michael Owen has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Evan Ferguson at Brighton and how he is ‘making headlines’.
The former England striker stated that the 18-year-old is a ‘very, very talented’ player, who has four Premier League goals to his name this season from 11 matches.
That included a cheeky, yet brilliantly-worked back-heel flick from Evan Ferguson when Champions League-chasing Brighton beat Bournemouth 2-0 in midweek.

Added to making a name for himself on the Premier League stage, the thriving star is also making a name for himself on the international stage with the Republic of Ireland.
A huge future awaits the hard-hitting striker, who is already attracting transfer interest, including from Tottenham Hotspur – there are suggestions that he is being valued at £100 million.
Either way, he is a player that is impressing Michael Owen, who spoke highly about the teenager, as he told Premier League Productions (04/04/23 at 10:50 pm).
“He’s at it again, making headlines and he’s a very, very talented player,” said Owen. “What a goal. I couldn’t have done this with my left foot.
“It’s a quite stunning goal from Ferguson. A bit of class shown by the youngster. He is some player. He is getting rave reviews from a lot of different places.”

FERGUSON SHOULD STAY AT BRIGHTON
At the tender age of just 18, and given that Ferguson has just had his breakthrough season, then there is no need for him to leave this summer – Darren Bent certainly thinks he should stay put at the Amex Stadium.
Ferguson is still establishing himself. Come next season, he can try to hit the big numbers in Brighton colours, as well as trying to help the Republic of Ireland reach Euro 2024.
He certainly won’t be able to do the latter if he is sitting on another team’s bench.
