Liverpool’s January transfer window started with a bang having landed Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in a club-record deal – but they have now lost Philippe Coutinho.
The Reds managed to keep Coutinho over the summer in the face of strong interest from Barcelona, and the playmaker responded by hitting 12 goals and eight assists in 20 games in all competitions.
Coutinho’s continued impressive performances kept Barcelona interested, and they have finally landed their man after Liverpool accepted a huge deal worth a staggering £146million (Sky Sports).

Whilst Liverpool may have conceivably splashed the majority of that cash on Van Dijk, they now need a replacement for Coutinho, with another playmaker needed in his place.
A host of names have already been linked with a move to Anfield, and fans are now clamouring for Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic to be snapped up.
Pulisic, 19, joined Dortmund when Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was in charge at Signal Iduna Park, and he has developed into a key player for the Bundesliga side, notching four goals and one assist so far this term.

The United States international sensation has huge potential, and Liverpool fans now believe that he could be the perfect player to replace Coutinho as Klopp’s playmaker of the future.
Fans took to Twitter to suggest that they would love to see Pulisic arrive at Anfield, claiming that a move would make perfect sense as he can cause havoc in midfield or in attack, just like Coutinho – and supporters seem to believe he could be the ideal target.
