Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing the rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur with a move for Marcus Edwards.
Portuguese outlet, Record, stated that Spurs are keen on a move for Edwards, and according to Gold, Spurs could do a deal on the cheap.
It’s been reported for some time now that Tottenham have a sell-on clause from Edwards’ time in the academy, and the journalist is ledt to believe this clause could be as high as 45 per cent, meaning that Tottenham could sign this player, essentially, at half price.

Spurs’ Edwards chance
Gold shared what he knows about Edwards.
“Is Marcus Edwards coming back? How do I put this. Economically it makes sense because Spurs have that deal that is around 40 to 45 per cent sell-on clause. So essentially they’d get him for half-price,” Gold said
“I don’t know whether or not he fits into a Conte team. Homegrown wise he’d be an asset and he’s a talented player, but I don’t know if he fits into the workrate required.”
Black Friday deal
How ironic that this update has emerged on Black Friday?
Spurs can get their own brilliant discount on Edwards if they sign him in a half price deal, and as Gold says, he is a incredibly talented player.
Yes, there are concerns about his work rate, but as he showed in the Champions League against Tottenham, when he’s up for a game, he can absolutely run the show.
He may not be a Conte player right now, but isn’t that what a coach is there for? To teach a player how to work in his system?
Spurs signing Edwards would be wise, especially as they have a unique opportunity to get him on the cheap.
