Some Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that the club are interested in signing Sergio Romero from Manchester United.
According to Marca Argentina, Villa will beat Premier League rivals Everton to the signature of United goalkeeper Romero.
It has been reported that the 33-year-old Argentina international goalkeeper will join the Villans for a transfer fee of €8 million (£7.18 million).
With Pepe Reina gone following the end of his loan spell and Tom Heaton injured at the moment, there is a case to be made that the Villans could do with a top-quality goalkeeper at the moment.
However, once Heaton recovers his full fitness, manager Dean Smith could have too many goalkeepers in his squad, with Lovre Kalinic, Jed Steer and Orjan Nyland also at the club.
Romero has been on the books of United since 2015 and has been essentially a back-up to David de Gea.
However, the former Sampdoria star has done well for the Red Devils when he has been called into action.
