Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are reacting to footage of Noni Madueke.

The 19-year-old is clearly going from strength to strength in the Netherlands, after leaving Spurs’ academy a couple of years ago.

Madueke, who was on the books at Tottenham, is one of the most exciting young players in Dutch football and reinforced that on Tuesday.

PSV Eindhoven thumped Midtjylland 3-0 in a Champions League qualifier and the former Lilywhites winger scored the pick of the goals, expertly finding the top corner with his left foot from outside the box.

Here’s what some fans of the North London club are saying.

Loss

Fortune really does favour the brave.

It can’t have been an easy decision to make to quit a club like Tottenham who did, at the time, give young players chances in the senior side if they warranted it.

Naturally there’ll be a bit of a temptation to criticise Spurs for not doing enough to keep him.

But by all accounts it was Madueke, not the club, who decided on a parting of ways.

And for someone who contributed to 17 goals in 32 games across all competitions for PSV last season, it was clearly the right decision.
