Speaking to Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Jurgen Klopp has expressed his opinion on Leeds leaving anti-Super League shirts in the Liverpool dressing room.

The shirts read ‘earn it’ on the front, while claiming ‘football is for the fans’ on the back, and Jurgen Klopp wasn’t happy with the fact that the shirts were left in the dressing rooms.

Klopp believes that Liverpool know better than any other club that you have to earn the right to play Champions League football, and he’s said this gesture has made him angry.

“I’ve heard already that there are warm-up shirts or whatever, but we will not wear them. Not because we cannot, but if someone thinks they have to remind us that we have to earn a go at the Champions League, it’s a joke. That’s a real joke and it makes me angry. They put it in our dressing room, if it was a Leeds idea, thank you very much, nobody has to remind us, maybe they should remind themselves,” Klopp said.

We really can’t understand where Klopp is coming from.

This wasn’t a message from Leeds to Liverpool, this was supposed to be a message from Leeds and Liverpool to the wider footballing world.

We can understand why Liverpool didn’t want to wear the shirts. After all, they’re due to be one of the founding members of this Super League.

For some reason, Klopp is still talking about Liverpool knowing that they need to earn the right to play in the Champions League, which doesn’t really add up when you consider that they’re forming a breakaway competition that allows guaranteed entry every year for the Reds.
