Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been waxing-lyrical about Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Phillips had been sidelined with injury for quite some time ahead of the game against Norwich City over the weekend, but he made his long-awaited return to the starting XI against the Canaries.
Phillips didn’t put in his strongest performance against City, but his return did mark Leeds’ return to winning ways and Seaman had plenty of good things to say about him this week.

Seaman reserved special praise for Phillips.
“He’s quality and he’s one of those players that makes it look so easy, even when he pings the ball, there’s hardly any backlift, and it’s always the right weight and the perfect length. I just really enjoy watching him and then stepping it up onto the England stage has been amazing to see, so long may he stay at Leeds,” Seaman said.
Serious talent
Phillips is a fantastic footballer, there’s no doubt about that.
Leeds are in a bad place right now, but Phillips’ return should help them steady the ship and work their way up the league table.
The Yorkshire Pirlo has that nickname for a reason, he’s a calming influence in the Whites’ midfield and he understands Marcelo Bielsa’s system perfectly.
The fact that he’s also been able to translate these performances to the international stage shows just how talented he is, and as Seaman says, he’s a quality player.
