Celtic clearly know how important Odsonne Edouard is to their 10-in-a-row bid.

The French hitman scored 28 goals for the Hoops across all competitions this past season, despite it finishing two months earlier than expected.

Consequently, bigger clubs are starting to sniff around Celtic’s prized asset and Arsenal are said to be one of them [The Mirror].

With Edouard firing on all cylinders, there isn’t much stopping Neil Lennon’s side from pipping Rangers to a historic 10th successive Premiership title next season.

And the Northern Irishman announced an encouraging piece of news on Saturday, that the club are actively working to extend his contract in Glasgow [The Scottish Sun].

Here’s how Celtic fans reacted to that update:

This might be Celtic’s biggest signing of the summer if he puts pen to paper.

They would be handsomely compensated if he left and Lennon could afford a big-money replacement, but it’s hard to replace the goals that he brings.

Edouard would’ve smashed the 30-goal barrier if not for the global health crisis – 22 of his 28 goals came in the Premiership, incidentally – and it gives Celtic such a huge advantage in their pursuit of history if he hangs around.
