Garth Crooks has warned Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy on BBC Sport not to sell Harry Kane to Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the summer of 2023.
The former Tottenham forward has said that the Spurs fans would not be happy if the North London club sold the 29-year-old England international striker to Manchester United at the end of the season
Crooks believes that if Kane left, then the Tottenham ownership would come under pressure and head coach Antonio Conte would leave.
The Daily Mail reported over the weekend that Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all are interested in signing Kane in the summer of 2023.
The report claimed that Spurs could sell the striker for at least £85 million.
Crooks made his comments about Kane while including him in his BBC Premier League Team of the Week.
The 29-year-old England international striker scored for Tottenham in their win against Fulham in the London derby on Monday evening.
Garth Crooks on Tottenham, Harry Kane and Manchester United rumour
Crooks wrote: “This is a difficult time for Tottenham Hotspur and in particular Harry Kane. S
“purs are being eclipsed by their north London rivals, while speculation surrounds the England captain about a possible departure to Manchester United.

“None of that, however, seemed to bother him against Fulham. His goal was of the highest quality as he left Tim Ream on the turn treading water before smashing the ball past a stranded Bernd Leno.
“If Kane were to leave Tottenham for Old Trafford, it would cause a major storm and put the ownership of the club under pressure and the manager’s position in doubt.”
Could a summer transfer happen?
In our view, Harry Kane could leave Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester United in the summer of 2023.
While Kane has been at Spurs his entire professional club football career so far and loves Tottenham, he will also have personal ambitions of winning major trophies.
Spurs are unlikely to win the UEFA Champions League anytime soon, and winning the Premier League will be tough as well, even with Conte in charge of the first team.
Manchester United are arguably the biggest English club, and they need a world-class striker.
And the Red Devils are a wealthy who can afford to pay Kane’s transfer fee.
