Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:38pm, January 5, 2023) that he is shocked that Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are so close to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League table.
Carragher said after Manchester City’s win against Chelsea on Friday evening that he could not believe just where Manchester United are in the Premier League table at the moment.
The Sky Sports pundit dmitted that it gave him a major fright.
Liverpool and Manchester United are big rivals.
While Jurgen Klopp’s side are not having the best of times at the moment, United have steadily progressed under Ten Hag and are now very much in the race for the UEFA Champions League places in the Premier League table.
United could even challenge for the title.

Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table with 44 points from 17 matches.
Defending champions City are second with 39 points from 17 games.
United are fourth with 35 points from 17 matches.
The Red Devils have put together a run of positive results, and maybe, just maybe, they could launch a title challenge of their own, especially now as Ten Hag is starting to make an impact on the team.
