Ian Wright has spoken in glowing terms about the job Ange Postecoglou is doing at Tottenham Hotspur.

After arriving from Celtic in the summer, where he won the domestic Treble, the Greek-born Australian has won fans over like never before.

After seven Premier League matches, Tottenham are unbeaten and sitting second in the table, with Wright stating that the job Ange Postecoglou is doing is ‘underrated’, as he told Premier League Productions (02/10/23 at 2:20 pm).

Ange Postecoglou didn’t walk into a team that was flying high or was playing this amazing brand of football, in fact, it was the complete and utter opposite.

And then to put the boot in further, days before the new season starts, Spurs lose their talisman and club-record goalscorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

None of this seems to have distracted or caused issues for Ange Postecoglou and his team because they are flying following their drama-filled and stoppage-time win over Liverpool on Saturday.

‘Underrated’ Ange Postecoglou

“It’s underrated,” said Wright. “It’s an underrated effort he is doing, at the minute.

“Major Ange Postecoglou fans. I remember people saying at the start that ‘he needs to start well’.

“With the players he has got, you want them to do well and win some games and stuff. But I didn’t expect it to be in the grove it is now and so quickly.

“Not just physically, but mentally as well. They know what they are doing – we are looking at a team that we know that will improve simply because Bentancur is to come back.”

Tottenham’s style of play under Postecoglou

From Postecoglou’s man-management to the style of football he has brought to Hotspur Way, this is a dream start for everyone associated with the club.

The man in the dugout deserves the biggest of praise because the £40k-a-week man (Daily Record) hasn’t felt sorry for himself for losing a player like Harry Kane, but instead, remained positive and truly believed he could get the best out of this crop of players.

During Postecoglou’s years as a manager, he has always been a part of rebuilding jobs, something he seemingly thrives off, and he is showing signs of that once more.
