Roma right-back Maicon has spoken about the differences and similarities in the coaching styles of Rudi Garcia and Jose Mourinho.
Brazilian international Maicon played under Jose Mourinho in Inter’s Champions League winning side and is currently thriving in Rudi Garcia’s Roma team.
The 33-year-old has been given the chance to relaunch himself at Serie A giants Roma having been allowed to leave by Manchester City.
“Last season I sometimes played when I wasn’t feeling well,” he said.
“If my legs weren’t 100 percent, I tried to compensate in other ways.
“When I arrived here at Roma I didn’t expect to be welcomed this well, I right away became a fan favourite.”
Maicon then discussed life under the Special One and French tactician Garcia, who has build a formidable Roma side and stated his belief that the two men thrive through being concise.
“Mourinho and Garcia are different,” he explained.
“The first is more focused on the mind, Garcia more on the pitch. The thing they have in common is the ability to explain themselves in a few words, and in football this is important.”
