Aston Villa brought in Mahmoud Trezeguet in the summer transfer window.

The questions about Aston Villa’s new signings may have shifted from Wesley and on to Mahmoud Trezeguet.
When Wesley first arrived at Villa he faced fierce criticism after just two appearances, as he made a slow start.
However, the Brazilian silenced the doubters by putting in a great performance for Dean Smith’s side against Everton last month.
Wesley proved during that contest just why Villa paid so much money for him, as he showed power and a clinical finish as Smith’s side won 2-0.
The criticism of Wesley has since been silenced, but another one of Villa’s new attackers hasn’t made as encouraging a start.
Trezeguet’s own struggles went rather under the radar while Wesley was taking most of the blame, but the focus is firmly on the Egyptian now.
Trezeguet has played in every one of Villa’s Premier League matches so far, but he was cheaply sent off in their last game against Crystal Palace.
That red card compounded what he has been a difficult start to life for the rapid winger in England.

Trezeguet has been guilty of missing some presentable chances in front of goal, and his final ball has also been questionable.
Of course, it would be foolish to entirely write Trezeguet off, as there has been glimpses of quality that he has shown too.
But his performances are going to have to improve as he becomes more settled, if he is to retain his place in Villa’s starting line-up and avoid facing the same questions that Wesley did earlier this season.
